After 10 years of work in Nepal, we have decided to close our association and - with the exception of the “coffee project” - to transfer our activities and remaining funds to the “HOPE - HOFFNUNG für Kinder in Nepal” association.
HOPE has been exempt from tax in the canton of Aargau since 2012 and is sustainably active in the areas of education and health in Nepal. We have already been working together for several years, know the local people involved and have complete confidence in their commitment. Our project manager and board member Mr. Janardan Gautam will join HOPE and thus continue on our common ideas. Please read more about HOPE: www.hope4children.ch
We (nepalhilfe.ch) are NOT accepting any more donations and recommend you to consider a donation via the HOPE association.
We have been able to initiate, implement or participate in many helpful projects. At the beginning from 2015 onwards, the main focus was on emergency supplies in the context of the earthquakes and landslides, such as roof tiles / blankets / tents / infrastructure and goods for short-term bridging of emergency situations
We were then active as follows (please ask for details of the projects and we will be happy to send them to you. monika.kohler@helpnepal.ch. You can find some impressions here: JG Foundation - Touren in Nepal, Tibet & Bhutan -Himalaya Reisen)
- Construction and furnishing of school buildings
- Building / implementation of vocational schools and courses (bakers, carpenters)
- Support of agricultural projects such as schools, grinding mills, coffee plantation, goat breeding
- Education of children
- Medical health camps. Medical aid in remote areas
- Hospitals: delivery of wheelchairs and equipment for emergency aid in the event of snake bites (southern Nepal)
- Various individual aid for families and communities
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and respect to ALL those who have supported us during these very active years. Thank you very much for the trust and support we have received.
Namaste
